Just checking to see if anyone has played any of these scenarii. They've been up for awhile, and I've seen no feedback. Here's the link to the download and the description for those who may have not known of them. http://www.gamesquad.com/forums/downloa ... le&id=1352 Twelve new scenarios for The French and Indian War. All twelve are centered on Ft. Necessity, and Washington's famous battle there on July 3rd, 1754. The twelve are divided into to series, one with poor weather, the other with clear. The poor weather scenarios last 11 hours - 108 turns, as this is the historical length of the battle. The good weather series only lasts two hours each - 24 turns. There are six basic scenarios; historical; what-if French has less troops; what-if Washington had his Mingo allies with him; what-if the expected two companies of Independent Regulars arrived on the day of battle; what-if a provincial regiment arrived on the day of battle; and what-if all the expected reinforcements and the Mingo were present a day or two before the battle. This packet uses the stock pdt files: Main.pdt and Main_w.pdt. It featurea new map and new oob files, one each. Many ideas I have tried since FIW's release for scenario, map and oob design are incorporated in this packet. For instance the Natives are organized historically, and use the names they gave themselves in thier own languages. Indians now carry various different weapons, and have warbands of widely varying strengths. The two provincial regiments have picquet and wagon guard details, and invalids! Each company, for all Euro-stock troops, have one leader and two platoons. The French are organized and labeled more accurately, as well. The British army has no overall leader, as no one leader had the authority to command them all, or some leaders (Washington and Craven) wouldn't submit to the regular captains, as they should have. So each indepentent company and provincial army is it's own British army within the game engine. The French are a seperate army from the indians, who are grouped into three independent 'armies' themselves, although they still fight only for the French. The map is totally new. It measures one mile square, 42 x 42 hexes. The fort itself looks like a town with a wooden fence around it in one hex. I did this to get a good look to it (in 2D), and to get a fairly accurate feel of its inadequate defensive qualities within the game engine. All the scenarios are A.I. scripted with each side trying to make its appropriate historical moves. So the scenarios can be played solitaire. |
