Greetings all and esp Rich, As you are updating, can we tackle another issue that may have appeared as a good idea on paper or in theory but which is HORRIBLE in practice: Rifle Effects. 1). Does anybody use this rule? 2). If kept, can the engine be tamed dramatically? IMHO, the natural course of events keeps units from regrouping so as to enable melee ability. Rifle effects, would be best if the result were fairly rare. Or perhaps <font color="red">temporary</font id="red">, say a unit is leaderless for 15 - 25 minutes after which an organic leader assumes command or a staff/attached officer arrives to regain control, and the 'no leaders' goes away. 3). Of course, if the horde of rifle armed militia units comes out of the OOBs, then perhaps, perhaps, this rule might be used more often. But I still think the 'no leader' result should come much less frequently. As the British player, it is disheartening enough to see the damned snipers take out 2 - 3 men from 6 - 7 hexes. |
