Post subject:  Rifle Effects

I'm sure the subject of Rifle Effects has been beaten to death on this board but, I'm returning after a long time away and have never seen this discussed when I've been here. In light of this, I have a few questions and I would like to hear some thoughts from both sides of this matter.

1. Do the Rifle Effects rules accurately reflect actual combat of the period and American combat doctrine regarding the targeting of enemy NCO's/Officers? If so or if not, why or why not?

2. Do they unbalance the game that much?

or

3. Do they accurately reflect the method used by American forces to offset the all too common enemy advantage in numbers and/or quality of troops?

4. Are there any members of the British Army in this game willing to use them in club sanctioned scenarios?

I would like to know. I like the games I play to be as realistic as possible. H3ll, I love Gary Grigsby's War in the Pacific for the utter realism and detail. I would like to play some scenarios against a human opponent usibng these rules to see if they really unbalance the game that much or if they are just over hyped as an unbalancer (word I just invented) of games.

All views on this subject are appreciated.
