Are there plans to support this game at the club? Anyone interested in the 9 turns Saxony scenario? |

I believe we had this discussion once before concerning another title and the consensus was to preserve the roleplaying aspect of the club by limiting the supported games to early North American conflicts. |

Thomas, As soon as I get it I will have a go with you. I still think we should discuss this again as a viable game for club. French & Indian War was fought both here and in Europe, and saying we limit our games to North America is like shooting yourself in the foot. It is not likely we are going to get even 2 more games in the next 10 years for this club. |

Hi Paul, thanks for your reply. I am looking forward to our game. Although I am still learning the game mechanics I already love the game - one reason is that I do not know any other game covering the 7YW in Europe. Hope to hear from you soon. |

I believe that we had a similar discussion last summer about Horse and Musket from Matrix Games. I think there was a general consensus to keep the club focused on North America at that time. There was also some discussion of adopting appropriate period games, no new armies being formed, and treating those games as maneuvers for point purposes. I personally think that this is worth more discussion and serious consideration. It would allow our current members more opportunities for game play, bring some fresh "fodder" and material to the club and potentially bring new members into the ranks of our club. I am in favor of keeping the club focused on North America and enjoy what the club offers. Still, I see that adopting relevant period games as nothing but a positive for the club. I don’t believe that we would need to restructure the club or armies or change our focus from North America by including some select period games. If our membership grows and the club begins to evolve into something different, we can always discuss and act accordingly. |
