Gentlemen & Foe Alike:

Gather on this day, let us set aside our arms and grievances and Honor the retirement of a Fine & Beloved member of His Most Britannic Majesties Army and even more so of this fine Club:

Field Marshal The Marquess of Brandywine, KCB (Phil Natta) & Bartholemew

Probably one of the Most Feared Officer & Animal of the British Army. The Most Successful Field Marshal of the Army, save The Marquess of Kingston. One of the very few Honored holders of the Order of the Bath. Former Commander-in-Chief & the General Officer Commanding of the Guards Brigade & the famous 1st Foot Guards for many years, his name is spoken loudly and with vigor by the Prime Minister, exemplified by the military professors at Woolwich & Sandhurst, whispered in amazement in the Royal Court of Saint James, hushed in low tones by the rank & file when he passes by and spoken in fear by all those who opposed him.

Of course the enemy no longer has to worry about his infamous poodle, Bartholemew, gnawing at their shoes and biting their mandhood! :D

It is with a very, very heavy heart, that on my watch, I accept the retirement of Ol' Natty Phil. But it is with extreme hope, that one day, one fine Glorious British Day, we shall hear the bark of Bart on the road, see a great white horse appear and upon a silhouetted sky, see this most British of Men again!

God Bless The Marquess of Brandywine! Rule Britannia!

Please take note of the latest of portraits of this imposing man, which will be hung at the Royal Court of Saint James.

Most Dutifully Executed By His Most Britannic Majesty's Command,

Tis truly a sad day. I have many a memory of having my legs gnawed by Cerebus, and one fine memory of a certain encounter in the woods at Guilford Courthouse where I got a measure of revenge.

That said, the Natty one was long a favorite opponant and a good friend.

Salute!

This is a very sad day indeed. I do miss the sharp wit and humour. I hope you'll return some day Phil...

BTW, can some one send me Phil's email addy. I lost it, and want to check on him to make sure he survived the twisters that tore through St. Louis last Thurs/Friday.
