Greetings Gentlemen of all Armies!

After an extended business\holiday away from His Majesty's colonies and this fine gathering of warriors and statesmen, it's my pleasure to have received a new call to duty and a renewed offer to accept the King's shilling from British C-i-C Lieutenant General The Viscount Ludwig of Lexington, OSM. My business has come to an end here in Londontown, and soon I will be boarding the HMS Scorpion en route to an undisclosed British port on the Nor'East coast of the continent. Accompanying me as usual will be my constant companion Bartholomew, (don't call him Bart to his face!) Poodle Extraordinaire, the "Scourge of the Colonies". We're looking forward to reestablishing prior and new acquaintances, and dabbling in the Club's military endeavors. Till we meet here over a brandy, or on the field or seas of glory...cheerio!

Come now Dragoons!

Word is the Royal Marines have scraped the bottom of the barrel (rum no doubt), and are bringing over pensioners to continue the fight. Let's prepare a warm welcome for this OLD friend. Anyone care for 'Poodle on a Spit'?

Did I mentioned OLD?

Glad to see the uniform still fits Phil, and Bart's new dentures look right natural indeed. :-)

Ahh, two of my old rivals poke their heads up from their protective tree houses. You chaps still wearing the same old worn out, faded dungarees I see! You really should bathe and change your "uniforms" more often I say! Mr. B almost went crackers when he saw your names. I had to calm him with a whole turkey (your national bird representative yes?) leg so he could take out his aggressions on that. I do confess to showing him your pictures which he devilishly ripped to shreds right out of my hand. Well, at any rate, it's a delight to smell you two vagabonds even from far away again! I expect we'll cross bayonets/pitchforks again soon, what what??

A little update on my personal chronicles:

I'm recently retired from the St. Louis Art Museum and after a few months lolling about, I'm now teaching chess at a few local schools as my main pastime. I'm also in "gentleman gardener mode", taking care of Natta Manor, and the Madam of the Manor, building models, flying kites, metal detecting, playing board and PC games, generally anything that strikes my fancy. I'm amazed to discover that when you don't have to report to an official job, things like painting rooms, cutting grass, general upkeep and maintenance, are actually pleasures to enjoy at my own pace. But I'm doing very well and have no complaints worth mentioning. In my extended absence, I've thought about this Club and all my friends here many many times and I'm glad and grateful that Scott Ludwig was so considerate in inviting me to rejoin. My current assignment is leading His Majesty's Royal Marines, which for me bookends nicely with my previous command of the 1st Foot Guards, who I may rejoin sometime in the future. That's pretty much what I've been all about recently, I'd like to hear what's new with anyone who cares to respond, new friends and old....and I mean OLD! :P

Well we Phil are glad to have you back & hope that you will enjoy your time around again with us. Also your humor is exactly what we need to continue to have fun at this. I think you might be able to drag some of the rip van winkles of the old members out from their holes.... :P

Glad you took the King's Shilling and I am glad I reached out to you! :D

My Dear Commander, Aide-De-Camp, General-en-Chef: Maréchal Le Prince du Garry Copé, etc. etc. etc. "La mère de Lafayette avait une barbe!"
Aside from that how have you been and how are you now? You were always the battle opponent I consistently had the most trouble with, an excellent tactician by Jove! What, lad, caused you such confusion to (on and off again) conspire with the Rebel Rabble and resist the King's Shilling??

Lt. General Al Amos,
You too were always a tough commander on the many battlefields we contested. Unless that is, Bartholomew (don't call him Bart to his face!) would lick the map at hot spots he noticed, focusing my attention in routing your farmers and shop keepers from behind their mater's hoop skirts. And you Sir, I hope all's been well with you?

Sir Phil, I've been well. I have a long weekend coming up from the Post Office and will try to sum up all that has transpired since last we talked.

Good to see you're still playing with LEGOs. ;-) (tiles at bottom of post) hehehe...

Been blessed and generally in "good sorts" Phil. Seeing all the 'ol ribbons in your moniker brings a smile and a reminder to dust mine off every once and awhile <GRIN>

Thank you Lucas. Cozy up to the bar and order yourself some corn liquor, a scotch for me, and a champania for spoiled Bartholomew. Put it on his tab also. :P
