Gentlemen. I am a new member in training with Larry. We are completing (turn 11 of 12) of my first traing game - Cowpens. I am new to Campaign 1776 having found it online last month. But I am not new to war gaming and tactics. However I am very very very new to PBEM against human opponents so please be patient in that regard. As a (former) resident of West Jersey I beleive strongly in fighting for our Liberty. Having just signed the muster roll I have not yet been assigned a unit. But I would like to take this opportunity to offer myself as an opponent to all interested misguided would be tyrants still serving the crown. Being a newbie I would like to keep my first games to those games listed on the Campaign 1776 List of Completed Games with proven "even" victory results. I await your offers. Best Regards, John Brown Patriot |

Thanks to Larry and Scott I have completed my training and am most interested in starting some club games. Are there any Loyalists, Tories or "friends" of the King ready to accept an open challenge from a new member willing to stand up and defend his Liberty. Let me know how to get the ball rolling. |

Just make fun of their wigs or their puddles... I mean poodles. That should get one of them to spill their tea which usually starts a fight. They'll want you to pay for the dry cleaning. Btw, no matter how many times you take the poodle to the cleaners he comes back smelling like wet dog. |

John is keen to get started. I highly recommend him. He zipped through his training game with Larry, so he will be a quick turn around... ![]() We are glad to have you with us, now pay your taxes! ![]() |

Garry, Thanks for taking me up on my offer. Let me know what you think would be a balanced game for a beginner that you'd like to play. After completing my training game in three days I am eager to play and gain experience. With my kids grown and college age, my career well established as I look forward to early retirement, an understanding wife of 22 years and a well settled routine social life - Middle-Aged Man enjoys his war games and makes time for them. Being something of an insomniac helps too. Any other takers? |

Hi John, I would be most interested in an even game as well, as I am quite rusty myself. Please choose a game and send me your first file! |

After completing my training game in three days I am eager to play and gain experience..... I would suggest: The Battle of Guilford CH_a, 30 Turns (+2% Even - across 57 Total victories) Using your Optional Rules: Victory Points for Leader Casualties Automated Defensive Fire Flank Morale Modifier Line Movement Disruption Weak Zone of Control. If you would like to try this one I can start it up and send it tonight or tomorrow .. or, if you like, you could try starting it up. I don't recall who actually has the first move. fyi: Normal practice in the club is for the player who moves first to make the file, his first turn and then send it to opponent. Also, this would be a good one for you and Lars to try .. then we could choose another one at your convenience. ![]() |

Garry, Guilford Courthouse (a) sounds good to me. Brits move first. I agree with the optional rules as proposed. Having read some of the discussions I also would like to suggest that not we not allow melee from column formation. Is that an inapproprite request or something you feel strongly about? Feel free to send me your first move anytime. Best Regards; John Logan Brown |
