| Post subject: | Profiles and How it Helps YOU |
Every once in awhile we need to post something on this as the newer guys (and some of the older ones) forget that a Profile with a club ID/formation helps all of us out. Why? Because if you just post: "Am looking for Allied officer" and sign it Jim we dont know if you are an Allied officer or French or if you are even in the club. Here are three good reasons why you should use a Profile (and its not an exhaustive list): 1. Most of us will not pick up a game with a non-club member though I have done it in the past (distant - way distant past). If you dont list your side in club/unit affiliation then we dont know if you are a member or a visitor. We always welcome visitors but in the past they have used this board to find opponents. While we dont have a lock and key rule on the board and dont mind a visitor now and then we do like to think of this as the club board for finding opponents. 2. You will get your challenge answered quicker with a profile. No questions asked about your unit affiliation and so on. 3. You get to show off your artwork for your unit. Some guys have GREAT looking profiles. It encourages you to find similar artwork and link it to your profile. Ok - so how do you edit your profile? Well as you read this just look up to the top of the forum - there is a link called "Profile" - the rest is covered in the instructions on how to edit your profile and how to use HTML in your profile. When I see a name on the board without a profile I usually pass on the challenge. Consider it a help to YOU to get your game started faster.
