Post subject: | No longer Calling Allied Officers - HPS |
I am seeking a new game with a player of similar rank or better in one of the Allied armies. I am open to any mid to large HPS battle (not campaign) I only play with Manual defensive fire ticked which I believe is better for battles than long manuevers. The other rules I am negotiable. My potential opponent should be up for several moves a week please. I am open to most all HPS scenarios although I have just completed the QB ligny battles and I am playing Waterloo historical. So prefer something different. Just recently I have indentified the large map 05h_2 Jena-Auerstedt battle would be fascinating. I have 8 major victories from 8 games with the club so step up if you want a tough fight. Thanks to my CO for his kind words but I am sure their a many tough allied commanders who could serve me with my 1st defeat. Salute! Lieutenant Colonel Colin Knox, 4e Chassuer a Cheval 1st Brigade 3e Division Cavalerie Legere IIIe Corps http://www.aspire.co.nz/colinknoxnwc.htm Armee du Nord |

Lieutenant-Colonel Knox Me thinks that your reputation has proceeded you and that the officers of the allied coalition are running scared. Running being the operative word. Well done Sir! Greater glory lies before you if only the enemy would present themselves.... <font color="gold">Général de Division Greg Morgan, Duc de Montebello et Comte de Gironde Commandant IIIème Corps Armée du Nord </font id="gold"> ![]() |

Monsewer: I have received your courier but he does not know his way back. You are either incredibly brave or incredibly reckless to the point of having a death wish. You should be more cautious before you try to play with the King's Field Marshals. If I were not indisposed, I would allow my horse to give you a lesson or two about keeping a clean stable. But as it is, I am currently occupied with my quest to fill my new trophy room with the batons of famous French Marechals. It is already a fine collection and I anticipate that it will only grow larger. Perhaps I shall let you add your baton to it someday (should you ever acquire one). When next you are in the Tavern, tell Helga to pour you a draught on my tab. Best regards, And God Save the King! FM Sir 'Muddy' Jones, KG 2nd Life Guards, Household Cavalry |

Sir Muddy It would be an honour to some day show you the glory of the French empire is beyond the imagination of a nation of shopkeepers. When you have done battling our veterans take the time to try and defeat me. Sir your lower echelons are taking a pounding from my glorious regiments and they need your assistance. In the meantime I wonder if Marechal Paco's baton is in your palour, which I doubt! [:D] Kind regards Lieutenant Colonel Colin Knox, 4e Chassuer a Cheval 1st Brigade 3e Division Cavalerie Legere IIIe Corps http://www.aspire.co.nz/colinknoxnwc.htm Armee du Nord |

But he is the only one so far. I have two batons and feel that two more will be coming my way when the work is done. Off to a good start I think. Time is the great determinant here. I only have so much of it, and right now what I have is consumed with battling Marechals Hall, Thayer, Mithcell, and GD Lambert. Not to mention an MP vs. Marechals Peterson and Worland. Knox will get his turn eventually. My new trophy room is large enough for many more souvenirs of my victories. Who knows, some day maybe your sword will grace my walls. [:0] FM Sir 'Muddy' Jones, KG 2nd Life Guards, Household Cavalry |

Gentlemen I challenged Sir Muddy and I appreciate him taking the time to well sledge the French I guess, but that aside I can see his dance card is heavily booked. Perhaps another allied officer can step up soon? Rest at ease Mr. Knox, I shall be back in the saddle tomorrow. By the way, is every French officer a Marachel? Does any officer who fawns all over the emporer so rewarded? Feldmarschall Jim 'Prinz' Pfluecke Commander, Austrian Cavalry Reserve 3 Graf O'Reilly Chevauxleger Rgt Hahn Grenadier Bn |

Jim good news, always an honour! But I am of course seeking more than 1 active game as my other 2 recently finished in more glory for the empire. So as I said 'still calling Allied officers' and my new question is; is Jim your only staunch commander? Lieutenant Colonel Colin Knox, You strike me as an excellent player for a young whipper snapper. I don't suppose you have any Talonsoft games by any chance? If so I would be happy to beat, er play, you in a mirrored pair of PTW 03. The Battle of Quatre Bras games or an NiR 07. Kutuzov Turns to Fight. I am not very good, but I'll try my darnest to put up a stiff fight. You know I don't for the life of me know how I ever won that Royal Military Academy Medal. Probably just lucky.
