You will be able to have just about any Regiment or OOB (within the game's current scope) you like by using the uniform and OOB editor.

A great map editor is a big feature that will score big points. On top of all that the doctrine editor will be a great tool as well.

Some of us are also waiting patiently for Empire in Arms by Matrix. Probably one of the more anticipated games to come out. While not grandtactical the game is alot of fun and probably going to be a big hit if its stable.

You bet John. Here is a quote taken from <b><font color="orange">Les Grognards</font id="orange"></b> Overview page:

http://www.battlefront.com/products/les ... rview.html

"<font color="orange"><b>The Doctrine Editor</b></font id="orange"> allows you to manage and edit the behavior of Regiments controlled by AI. This powerful editor unlocks the very essence of the unit based AI and allows <i>you</i>* to truly customize how your units will behave, interact with one another and fight."

<i>* Italics</i> added by me. [:)]

Here is a very early screenshot showing what the game could look like. The graphics have improved considerably since then.

When we are talkin HPS are we specificaly talking about:

Campaign Eckmuhl

I remember enjoying the Talon Soft games but I found that too many were using skirmishers are road blocks and having them run amuck like there was some kind of field radio for them to get back to the line.

I would like to rejoin the ranks of la Grande Armee and perhaps install all my games again.

One I never really had a chance to enjoy was the Quatres Bras version or PTW if I remember.

Ok so where is the old Closet, I need to dust off my uniform.

Also I would love to propose allowing me to build a website that is a little more modern.

I have completed a Club Site for my Poker crew and could easily adapt it to a Napoleonic Version.

have a gander and the server is at my house of course.

There are four titles out in the Napoleonic sereis by HPS Simulations. They are:

Campaign Eckmuhl
Napoleon's Campaign in Russia
Campaign Wagram
Campaign Waterloo

(in order of release)

MANY more are on the way.

Skirmisher issue: This has been more or less solved. The new games use a single phase style of play. You move, fire and melee all in one phase.

Cavalry can run over skirmishers or infantry can melee them and move them out of the way and then the rest of the force can move through the gap.

There are a ton of new features that have been added to the game engine over the last five years. These include random bridge damage by flooding rivers (or simulating fire boats) as well as charging cavalry being able to move through open hexes during their 4 hex melee range. If you remember, in the BG system if charging cavalry could continue to melee but didnt have an adjacent target their charge was stopped. This has been rectified in the latest patches for the games.

More games coming out. Bookmark the main HPS page at:

www.hpssims.com

... to get the latest info.
