Playing a Leipzig battle against a most devious and shifty opponent who has shot my knickers to pieces on many occasions, usually as I am running away.

In this particular battle I moved an infantry unit adjacent to his horse units, all units facing the same direction so ZOC should not have stooped it. My unit had 8 movement points left. But when I get next to them the MP goes to zero, as if I were in their ZOC. The only unit pointing to my unit was a just captured supply unit. I had no idea a supply unit had ZOC! Why do they show direction at all?

Of course, I could be completely wrong on this an apologize in advance.

Manual notes the supply wagons have no ZOC.
Although you said it was a capture supply unit? Maybe there is the bug, I suggest checking it closely so there is no oversight and then posting that on the WDS forum.

I just moved next to the captured supply wagon again and it did not take away my MP. So, more than likely, I should not drink before playing my turn. It's just that I need to fortify myself against battling Field Marshal Moss. Most frightening!

Modification to the above statement - send in a HelpDesk ticket with a game file to HelpDesk@wargameds.com - posting to forums is great for discussions, not so much for problem solving - and a game turn tells us a whole lot - so please always send issues to the HelpDesk.

Thanks

For discussion:

I have a routed unit, night turn with visibility of 1 hex. I cannot move the unit because it is "moving towards the enemy". I cannot see the enemy because of the visibility restriction. They must be surrounding me as I cannot move in any direction. Visibility should be tied to the unit, not the AI's all seeing eye. Just a thought...

Routed units not being able to move closer to units they can't be seen is something that has bugged me on occasion. Really think it should be can't move closer to spotted units.

Indeed that would make more sense. On the other hand we know of tellings that the units camped were they were when the battle closed or closed for that day. So you could say they see the campfire and know that the enemy is everywhere and that is why they won't move.
