The Allied Coalition's Opening of the Allied Training College (ATC)

By order of Commander-in-Chief (CiC) of the Allied Coalition Field Marshal Sir Andrew Moss, 1st Duke of Wellington K.T., the General Staff of the Allied Coalition and the various Coalition Armies, we are pleased to announce the opening of the Allied Training College (ATC).

The Allied Training College (ATC) is a combined college of the various military academies & war colleges within the individual armies in the Allied Coalition. The staff, faculty & training officers of the College come from the different armies to help provide a consistent and solid training experience for new recruits or returning officers. It is our endeavor to prepare Coalition officers for the many battles against the Little Corporal and his revolutionary upstarts!

Also, the Coalition Library is finally returning, albeit with a number of changes coming down the pike. Currently we have uploaded the articles from the old Anglo-Dutch Library that was managed by Peter Robinson at the Koninklijke Militaire Academie (KMA). These are all battleground series based, but we're loading them up so a complete set can be online again. Some of the writings may seem familiar like the famous Cawley Papers or even written by folks still here. More importantly Mike Davies & Alexey Tartyshev are working on a long term project to review, update and write new guides and helpful information for the WDS series. These will be loaded online as they become available and will help grow into a useful area for all members to benefit from.

With that said, the below officers have been appointed as the principal Staff & Faculty of the Allied Training College (ATC), along with those from the individual academies who serve as Training Staff:

The link for the Allied Training College (ATC) is:

This was a group effort of the Coalition leadership and we're very fortunate to have the commitment & volunteer spirit/esprit de corps of both Mike & Alexey taking the lead on the project! It is our hope that the ATC in time will be a benefit to all recruits, provide sound & consistent training and be able to bring us into the same level that La Grande Armée has been at for a number of years. More to come, that's for sure!

A most heartfelt congratulations! Absolutely wonderful work.

The thematic and roleplay elements in the design of the page are quite good.

For me the five phases described on this page are fundamental and I have never followed a systematic training.
In fact I don't even remember my training game, which I don't think I finished because of personal problems.
I would love to see this page filled with guides and AARs for each aspect and if I can help I am available.
I also wouldn't mind repeating my training game if an officer is willing to do so.
Thanks for your work

Here's a list of links to the work from Alexey, with help from some others, has already had posted in the "News" section of the WDS website.

Intro to WDS Napoleonic Battles
#1 - https://wargameds.com/blogs/news/introduction-to-the-wds-napoleonic-battles-series
#2 - https://wargameds.com/blogs/news/introduction-to-the-wds-napoleonic-battles-series-second-installment
#3 - https://wargameds.com/blogs/news/introduction-to-the-wds-napoleonic-battles-series-third-installment
#4 - https://wargameds.com/blogs/news/introduction-to-the-wds-napoleonic-battles-series-fourth-installment
#5 - https://wargameds.com/blogs/news/introduction-to-the-wds-napoleonic-battles-series-fifth-installment

Having contributed several of the examples of what not to do, I feel well qualified to recommend these to anyone who hasn't seen them yet, or even those that have and need a refresher.

Of course, there's also two great AAR's that expand on practical examples of these principles.

Thank you, General. :frenchsalute:

That's the material I'm working with, but I have to admit that I'm not very systematic and I'm having a hard time improving my game.

That's why whenever I read something about how to learn I get excited. :frenchcharge:

Best Regards

It is an honour to be part of the ATC, we've had a good number of cadets through our august halls and its great to see many of them go on and become active in the club. With the resources that are being put together its a great way to build the club for the future.

Now, time for a drink to celebrate methinks!

Hey Antonio!

I've got your email you sent yesterday and will reply to you about additional training in it as well. In recent months, I've been meaning to email you about whether you wanted additional training, so this will allow us the chance to set that up.
