I've got your flanks Scott, I believe myself and Mark have already crossed swords on this matter.

Did you know that the Hanoverian officers carry nappies in case they soil their breeches when they sight a French column coming in their direction.

What excellent words Scott and my sentiments exactly, The few games I have played even though all of them except one are all or going to be defeats but it's not the winning that counts, yes it is good to win and have that massive smile on your face and the bragging rights but I get an even bigger smile when a game comes to an end and I have had such a great game even though I lost and the bonus to all that is I have made a good friend as well. Myself and Richard are always poking fun and having a laugh at each other but neither of us takes offence and he and Fernando both of them of the Spanish Brigade are both excellent opponents who are enjoyable to play against.

I agree also that a lot of Hanoverian units the KGL in particular were held in great esteem in Spain by both Allied and French soldiers and had a fantastic reputation for bravery and gentlemanly behaviour.

I also do not intend to offend either as it is only meant in jest and I like you Scott have not won a game as yet and I am surprised no one has taken up this point and turn the tables and make a joke of it, well that is except Richard, lol.

I hope one day we can do a manouver as I'm sure it will be a great game Scott and maybe in the next few weeks we could get something going, What games do you have.

That's the point of it all....

That's why I'm still here, I enjoy the games and the laughs.

The KGL were fantastic in Spain, they really earned their stripes there.

You mean I am not the only one who gets promoted on the back major defeats

I know I should study opponents track record, I should also study the minutiae of cannons effectiveness over different distances etc. Just that that detracts from the "game". I am learning the effectiveness of cannon etc., by realizing what does not work.

Although perhaps I should make more of an effort to get leaders within command radius.

Now I know Scott also loses I feel, slightly, more hopeful of avoiding a major defeat in our battle.

I do realize that a major flaw in my strategy is to force the French back into the river. Alas the fear of water may override their fear of the glorious Russian hordes.

Just make sure there is no soap near the river, Tony. If those Frenchies get the idea that you are herding them into a bath, they will make a fanatical stand to avoid it. The Continental System being what it is makes their feminine perfume much harder to procure, and the thought of having it washed off will greatly distress them.

And despite Scott fine words to the contrary, Hanoverians are utterly harmless.

Hanoverian women? I thought they were just a platoon of Pioneers that liked to slap my butt when I walked by. And I only walked by once!!!
