Hi John
I am still here [;)]
I think your idea is a GREAT ONE so dont just drop it.
Let The Cabinet have a look.
We in the Allied Army have suffered in the past when officers controlling Stats or Promotions or Medals have dropped out.
All the Armies operate slightly differently but I would have thought this is not impossible to overcome , if the will is there[8]

John I encourage at least a system where the points for games ended are issued automatically when it is registered and sent to their commanders. This I think would help Geert a lot and us all too. [:D]

Ditto on what Jim said. I would like for you to contact each of the CinCs and they will in turn see how the system could apply to each of their armies.

On the whole a set of pages where the right count is kept would be nice. Army commanders could then have their own pages listing the points if they desire.

But enough from me on any kind of concept. Get in touch with the CinCs please and disucss it with them.

Jeff Bardon might still be recuperating from his knee surgery. Just in case you dont get an immediate response from him.

The topic of a automated system should be present at each Cabinet meeting. We at least should bring up the topic if we decide not to go in that direction.

Consider if you administer it who would have access and who could have master access if you have a prolonged absence. This is an issue all clubs that have an automated system.

I knew this would happen....why not ask the CoA's or their aides who do the work too. Who spend all the time and put all the effort into it, not the Cabinet and CiC whom do not carry this end of the work.

I for one will not allow nor accept Prussia into a full automated system.

Oh yeah, this would save Geert and others alot of work if at least we go with a system that delivers the form with the points calculated. This at least sounds very good.

Scott - we wont put into effect a full club-wide system of points reporting and so on if you are this affected by it. However, would you solicit your officers before you make such a pronouncement your final word on the matter?

I would hope that members still have some say in how their data is presented?

Talk with Ken Jones about it please. You do some really great work. Give this some thought and discussion before you pass final judgement.

This is just preliminary talks. Folks are divided over it. They were in the ACWGC and also our system in the Panzer club is a really hot issue too. Lets not let the tempers fly over it.

Before we ever go with such a program its going to be with alot of club discussion and careful planning.

OK.. after some good beer and friendly chat, I have decided to go with a cut down version.

Register new games
Register end games
View player stats

Emails will be sent out afer each new game is registerd
Eails will be sent out after games are ended with points calculated.

No ranks will be touched.

I'll find a way to have something for Geert to post on his site but his workload should decrease.

Gentlemen,
A couple of things. First the automated system. This works extremely well in our sister club the Panzer Campaigns Club

http://www.panzercampaignsclub.com/htdocs/
It would be extremly usefull to contact Sam Orlando at that club for some advice.
And could Herr Ludwig please be more specific about what he means by the cabinet and C-i-C roles or lack of them?
"I knew this would happen....why not ask the CoA's or their aides who do the work too. Who spend all the time and put all the effort into it, not the Cabinet and CiC whom do not carry this end of the work." Do you have any idea what works are carried out and by whom?
And your final comment is not helpfull what so ever

"I for one will not allow not accept Prussia into a full automated system." so what will happen if the club adopts it? Drawing lines in the sand before anything concrete has been negotiated is just plain daft!
Yes the system at the moment works well, that is only because of the hard work of the people updating the end game forms and calculating the points and updating them and putting them on web pages etc etc. I think you might find a few cabinet members who do "carry this end of the work."

I would talk to Sam if he answered my muster calls and e-mails. I am sure it is a great idea.

I was referring to the daily upkeep of Armee websites the tabulation of data for offiers stuff like that. The Cabinet does not maintain that. Also, I do have an idea. I sit on a Board in another club just like this one and we typically discuss one or two issues a month at most so I can't imagine what you guys must be doing here. And personally I don't care at this point whether my comments are helpful or not towards the Cabinet. I am sure they do a good job I have no doubt and I am sure their work is with the best of intentions, but they don't do the work that is carried out on a daily basis with the exception of you of course.

I suggest you read the whole post here, as we have agreed on an abridged system.

Yeah you, but I was not pointing directly at you. The organization as a whole. But that's your choice not your duty.
