I haven't played that many, but enjoyed the company-level version of Hougoumont, so I vote

2. (although I've been too busy with the normal scale battles to actually try one so far)

I have played a couple and like them. They are more intense, it seems.

I have played a few and even created variants a few years ago when Eckmuhl first came out using the Cobexlaw mods. Bill Peters inclusion of the first official scenarios in Wagram spurred my interest. I have since nearly completed a mod of the full Waterloo with more leaders to reduce the Anon cols etc. Fire values, fatigue and command ranges are reduced but ranges and stacking valuse slightly increased. For the players who feel a need to establish a ton of house rules to get historical game play these company level scenarios reward such behaviour and severly punish those who dont. Attacking with melees or firefights at 1 or 2 hex ranges (30-60m) leaves you with an army of 15 man companies quickly. Blitzkrieg attacks fall apart on the second line and rarely is escape possible. The scale of the maps and the movement rates still allow a strategic fell though tatics and formation are emphasized. So include as much as you can in the releases there is always many who appreciate your efforts,
