Good luck guys. I played so bad in Round 2 that Mark didn't even include me in the Loser's bracket! 8)

Gentlemen Officers of the SON Tournament:

A very large number of you have failed to confirm the games that were completed in Rounds 1 and 2. Please pay a visit to the DoR and confirm your games so that I can clear them from the system. There are at least thirty games or more that have not been confirmed for the club records.

Thanks!

Yeah an all inclusive tournament would be welcome good sires

I found myself out of the last Leipzig one for being too green for it.

Perhaps it would blush ye veterans to learn a trick or two from newcomers?

Ensign, salute!
I heartily commend you for acting upon such a principle as this, for I too try and follow the ideal you expressed.
I don't think they have announced the Leipzig tourney yet; it is supposed to take place this summer/fall 2012. Perhaps you and I shall meet upon the fields of honor and glory therein.
Regards,

The 2011 SON Tournament was started in September of last year. It is based on the HPS Waterloo title and is running much longer than anticipated. As such, the 2012 SON Tournament which will be based on the HPS Leipzig title will not get started until September of this year. The thread pertaining to the upcoming Leipzig based tournament can be found here:

You have not missed the Leipzig Tournament, Fernando, and still have a few months to practice. :P :P :P

Colonel Dumas, sir!
Isn't that Rod Steiger (sp?) as L'Empereur in an early 70's movie Waterloo? I believe I recall a redcoat wandering about the battlefield crying out, "Why can't we all get along? We are brothers!" or somesuch shopkeeper drivel. Just kidding shopkeepers, I understand the time frame of when the movie was made, and the whole anti war sentiment over Vietnam. Actually, I like the battle scenes. Always liked the opening too, when the Marechals were striding down the corridors to the stateroom, to confront Napoleon with the end of his tether. I shall stop before waxing on and on. Dino DiLaurentis movie wasn't it, produced by anyways?
Regards,

Just a reminder that all Round 3 matches should have been concluded yesterday. Please gather up your files and send me the results of your matches. Your games should be completed through the end of the Prussian turn.

Congratulations to all officers who have advanced into Round 4 of the tournament. One of the four matches in the Loser's Bracket was not played, leaving us with an odd number of teams. I am working with the players in that bracket to determine how they would like to proceed. The pairings for Round 4 are as follows:

Pairings for Play - Winner's Bracket - Round 4

Jeff Bardon
Frank Morehouse
versus
Ludwig Schmidt
Thomas David Phillips

Vladimir Repnin
Andrey Jastrembskiy
versus
John Sheffield
Bill Cann

Pairings for Play - Loser's Bracket - Round 4 (To Be Determined)

Congratulations, gentlemen!

Mister President, where are my final opponents?
We do not hear any cannonade pretty long time.
It looks like the combatants inter-annigilated already.

Prince Repnin, I hope to introduce you to your final opponents tomorrow. General Guegan is preparing the field for the last battle of the 2011 SON Tournament even as we speak. :D :P

Gentlemen Officers of the NWC:

Please join me as I raise my glass to the finalists in the 2011 SON Tournament! The two teams advancing to the final round have overcome considerable odds, and inveterate opponents, to vie for the Tournament Championship medals. The two teams left standing after four rounds of grueling combat are:

Vladimir Repnin /Andrey Jastrembskiy and Ludwig Schmidt / Thomas David Phillips

Congratulations, gentlemen! :P :P :P
