A rugged yet handsome French Lieutenant slowly and cautiously enters the Rhine Tavern. He quickly glances about and reccognizes some of the patron's faces though he doesn't know most of their names. They seem to give him a knowing stare, perhaps it's from the soiled and boody uniform or the familure far away look of his eyes. Out of habit, he reaches down to re-adjust his sword and remembers it's not there.

He mumbles to himself, "Oberstleutant Celamanka, now that's a name I won't be forgetting any time soon."

As he reaches the bar, Helga smiles and asks, "Would you like a glass of wine Lieutenant?"

"No, that won't nearly be potent enough. I will require some of the strong swill form the Americas, that place they call Tennesee." He points to the black bottle with the large number seven painted on it and instructs, "I'll take the whole bottle."

Taking the bottle and a glass, Lieutenant Wencz finds a table in a dark corner, sits and pours himself a drink. He raises it up in a jesture of a toast and quietly says to himself, "Here's to you Oberstleutant Celamanka, I hope I win my sword back the next time we meet." He downs the drink and pours another all the while wondering how things could start off so well and get so bad so quickly. Shaking his head he thinks such is the way of war and swallows a large gulp of Tennesee swill.

While looking around he reccognizes the brite red uniform of Colonel Jones. The colonel is holding a bunch of enlistment papers while trying to convince some young French officers to join his cause. He chuckles to himself and softly says, "Doesn't that man know we loyal French officers bleed bold bands of blue, white and red."

He grabs the black bottle and slowly starts for the door when he hears someone say something about a mad Russian desperately looking for an outhouse. He mummbles, "I wonder if a Russian Bear will sh_t in the woods?" He begins to laugh as he walks out the door with the remainder of his bottle in hand.

Well, well, well Lieutenant. It seems that we actually do have something in common after all. You see, it just so happens, that I am from Tennessee.

An excellent post, sir! You have my congratulations on a job very well done.

I have also heard the rumors that you will be seconding the venerable Marechal Bardon in facing the Black Menace of Prussia. He is a most excellent officer and among those who hold my highest respect. :P :P :P

Congrats to Celemanka! Another French foe vanquished.

Ah, its good to be with the Allies again!

I raise a glass of that fine vintage of lemonade that Helga keeps for me and toast both officers. Well done sirs and I hope we will be hearing more from you two again.

President Colonel Jones,

Yes sir, the rumors are true, we are trying to arrange a battle. I just hope that I don't end up back here in the tavern mumbling bad remarks about the "Black Menace." :) I believe Marechal Bardon will show me the way to victory!

Don't worry too much about defeat(s)... It's in defeat that the allies learned to win

You may have lost a battle but you haven't lost the war!

No time for that, Lieutenant Wencz. There are more battles to fight and as Gen. Guegan points out, the war is not lost, just one battle, a small blemish, that will be blotted out when our victorious army marches in to Berlin.

We shall see just how menacing these Prussians truly are.

Cheers!
