My sites might be down for a few days as I switch servers.... |

Sites will take longer to get back up as my website programs won't connect to the new services for FTP, so I will have to use the onsite uploader which will make things painstakingly slow. I don't expect the sites to be up until after the weekend when I have time to do the process..... |

Thanks for the update, Scott. Sorry to hear you will have to take a harder path, but you certainly are determined to get there. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Online uploader .... ah the days of Yahoo websites! ![]() "Easy to use - just use the online uploader ...." And wait, wait, wait! FTP is the only way to go ... I cannot remember if you can copy files to a server using XWindows or Telnet. Hey, there is always Gopher! (now I AM dating myself) |

Ah good old Yahoo websites. I used Freeserver which used to be 8m.com....then, here we go, see if you recall these, xoom.com which became nbci.com.... ![]() ![]() I have used Telnet to load up and I recall Gopher with great nostalgia, as well as AOL 3.0... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thankfully GoDaddy's uploader allows me to do file in mass....and select them all at once. ![]() But by far FTP is the best.... |

Scott, I really don't like half of the Coalition Army's websites being down for a month. I see that as being decidedly 'bad for club business'. Very sorry to hear you are having problems transitioning to your new server. Hope that works out for you in the long run. If you will send me your websites, I will upload them to my server and get them back in service in the next couple of days. Now that we are into a workweek, it may take me a relatively sleepless night to do so, but I will get it done. This will maintain the proper appearance to any guests and potential recruits that may be visiting our websites during the time it takes you to complete your own server transition. To the officers of the Prussian, Austrian and Swedish Armies, please understand that I will not be updating any of your officer records, medals, promotions, etc. Such necessary updates to the websites will still be handled by Scott and his administrative staff once he gets back in service. This is only intended as a temporary measure to bridge the gap of Scott's server outage. Once Scott transfers all of his files to his new server, I will replace the links from my server to his and we will be back to business as usual. Thanks for your patience in the interim. |

Nope.....realistically I should have them up some time next week, that weekend at the latest. I am going away for vacation Wednesday and will do it when I get back. |

Sheesh, considering that many of the sites are usually out of date anyway what is the worry, Mark? I would be amazed if 50 percent of the army websites other than Scott's are kept up to within one month of a promotion for instance. This is a one time thing and once it is over we will be back in service. This General is not sweating this issue. |
