The La Grande Armée's Commandant Maréchal Corbin is pleased to announce the Promotion of: Général Todd Schmidgall to the Commandant of the Réserve de Cavalerie Armée. Please congratulate Général Schmidgall on his promotion! We do believe drinks are on him! We also wish to thank the former Commandant Général Christophe Boucheron for his hard work and leadership of the Réserve de Cavalerie Corps. The Général Boucheron has other life duties which will not allow him to devote the neccessary time to the Corps. He is moving to the 3ème Régiment de Cuirassiers, 3ème Brigade, 1ère Division de Grosse Cavalerie, Réserve de Cavalerie. Please wish him well on all his endeavors and on his new command. Don't Forget Général Schimdgall is buying!

Congratulations, Todd! A very excellent choice. ![]() ![]() ![]() About dang time you were buying. ![]() ![]() ![]() And my sincere thanks for Christophe's leadership while leading the Reserve Cavalry, and for the thoughtful courage it took to step away from the post once he realized that he no longer had the time to devote to the duties it required. Whereas, I fully intend to drink General Schmidgall into the poor house today, I am buying all the liquor that General Boucheron chooses to consume. [Salute!] ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Although I am loath to agree with the Hanoverians on anything, I must also concur that it is about time you pried open your purse and splurged on our behalf. Please bring ne a bottle of the good stuff and that swill they are always drinking. Marechal Bardon and I will be in conference at the table by the fire. Congratulations General Schmidgall, a well deserved honor |

Congrats to one of my most enjoyable opponents in the group. I promise I won't drink to much. Helga, bring General Jones and I another bottle of our favorites and send Général "S" a bottle of his favorite perfume. On his tab of course................... |

Salute! The door to the tavern bursts open and the Tirailleur... I mean Cavalier fairly falls into the common room. Catching himself on the edge of a chair which with practiced ease he settles himself into at the table of well-wishers. It's these spurs, however does one walk in them? A small cask appears upon the table and fishing a key from a pocket somewhere beneath the new gleaming breastplate armor he opens it to reveal shiny gold buillion coins. This is the last of the trove I took from Archduke Louis when I captured his train at Abensberg. As the lovely Helga carries the pitchers of ale, bottles of wine, and cordials of Jager-liquor to the waiting officers, the Cavalier fills her apron with a shower of coins. If this celebration empties the box I will just have to raise the eagle standards of the Cavalerie! Thank you one and all for sharing the cheer of this occasion! I propose a toast to my predecessor, General Boucheron, whom I'm glad will be remaining among his chevaliers. And I must now admit to some embarrasment, I have yet to procur a steed worthy of my new command. I fervently hope that Marechal Knox will find time from his new duties as Commandant of the Grognards to help me in this matter. Regards, ps yes, I'm still sitting for my new signature portrait. |

Well, General Kling, your new cavalry commander did say he was posing, and we all know how much French officers like to pose. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

A toast to the new commander! ![]() Congrats, General Schmidgall! And Todd, just take one of the horses from the barn here at the Rhine. The allies will just end up surrendering the poor creature anyway. Call it a pre-emptive spoil of war. Just stay away from the foul tempered mud-beast in the corner. Not worth the trouble. ![]() And a toast to Christophe for his service and tenure as commander! ![]() Cheers! |
