Gentlemen

Once in a while, just for the fun of it I under take a Combined Cavalry and Infantry melee
Never really understood what happens except if successful I continue the charge to clear my own infantry.
Do both horse and foot become disordered before the melee and do the horse still get charge bonus

My understanding is that neither are disordered before the melee as long as they do not occupy the same hex, and the cavalry still get their charge bonus. I am not currently in a spot where I can test this to be sure.
