63 turns into our large Leipzig battle and I must say ... I have thoroughly enjoyed playing David Andrews and having him wipe out Yorck's I Corps in our game! :russianveryhappy:

Honestly, David is a great fellow and all of you out there should get to know him. Looking forward to a second battle ... that is if I dont get placed in a Prussian mausoleum for losing one of our finest corps! (Blucher is running away at the moment to escape being captured!)

@Bill Peters:..."(Blucher is running away at the moment to escape being captured!)"

So that is why he hasn't appeared in Andy Moss's and my Waterloo MP battle

Thanks for the kind words Bill. I'm very much enjoying battling with you too.

As I mentioned, this is my favourite scenario, so much scope for manoeuvre and alternative strategies....

Bill, I am glad to hear you're enjoying your game with David! :frenchhappy:

But you've lost Yorck's Corps!! If you lose Blucher himself, I am sending you to dig the swamps of East Prussia out!! :frenchlol:

:frenchsalute: Yessir! No swamp diggin for me! :russianveryhappy:

I still have Kleist's 2nd and Bulow's 3rd Corps. Making sure that they do not meet the same fate.

I still remember killing Blucher with a light cavalry charge in one of the playtest games for this title. That created quite a discussion. Seems like it was Warren Bajan and me against Ed Blackburn and Paco, or possibly you Bill. My memory is not what it once was.

David is having quite the challenge in our Leipzig campaign game.

I remember one playtester losing most of the Army of Silesia. That man will not be named here! :russianveryhappy:

I did lose one of the Prussian major leaders. Not sure if it was against you and Warren though. That has not happened again ....

I do wish that the Corps, Army, Wing leaders had a different looking icon ... would be nice if they were set off a bit more than the regular leader counter.. But dont look for that to happen :frenchwink:

Then there was the time where a supply wagon I captured then moved to capture some senior French officers. That led to the change that captured supply wagons lost all movement points after being captured.

We did learn a few things in those playtests...

Glad to hear that you have learned a lot from our contest. I'm really enjoying this game. A valiant French defense of Leipzig may be pivotal as the Allies tighten the noose.

Quick update: Dave and I have reached the 2nd day of Leipzig in our game - past turn 100 - and the mud has set in.

In the north Bulow's wing arrived ... in the northeast Langeron and co. continue to pressure Nappy and the main army along with Kleist. We are fighting north of Taucha, Dave having come out after Yorck's corps on the first day and he is still out there fighting it out with my forces.

Leipzig is held by the French. I am finding it an impossible nut to crack so the Austrians are mounting a watch on the city.

The Dresden garrison (XIV and I Corps remnants) are approaching but have been turned back near Wurzen.

Dave blew the bridges over the Parthe river so I am having to detour around it. Taucha bridge is back up which is good!

Planning for this battle is key. Once you set in motion large forces it is very hard to reverse course. :frenchwink:
