Credit Dean Webster with noting that the strength for the French army at Messkirch is incorrect as reflected in the RBR scenarios I created. In doing some checking, it turns out the Gouvion St. Cyr's entire Center Wing is missing. This formation was actually the LEFT wing force of the French army which was advancing north to find Kray.

I need a French translator who would help me go through any old texts we find on the battle to determine the following information:

1. How much of the Center Wing was present?

2. What part of the Messkirch map would they arrive at? Looks like somewhere southwest of Ober and Unter Schwandorf.

3. What time did each part of the Center Wing arrive?

I am not as concerned with the strengths of the units as the other formations are using those found in the OB file.

Any helpers out there that would like to help me correct this error? You can reply here, via PM or by email. A big thanks in advance to anyone that can help out. This is one of my fav. scenarios in RBR and I would like to get it right rather than just guess at it based on my "Firefox English Translation" of text found on the web. And there is precious little of that too.

I have asked Dean to agree to suspend our game. We would restart using the corrected version. Once the historical scenario is updated then the rest would be done as well. I also would check to see if there are campaign scenarios that use this area and look over the situation to see if its more or less correct.

According to one source I have, I do have it correct. St. Cyr did not intervene in the fighting. Nevertheless, I want to find out where the discrepancy is with the troop count. Apparently the French should have more men at the battle.

Paul Synnott, member of the NWC French Army (inactive) is helping out so this request can be considered closed.
