Does anyone still play this ?
I dusted it off recently and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it compared to the first time around.

let me explain why.

I decided that I wanted to play the allies in the full battle and I knew that the whole army is just too much to manage.
But it is possible to hive off parts of the army to the AI, which, with some direction, does a credible job.

Thats when I had my bright spark moment.

Why not hive off the entire army ,incl Wellington, then take back one unit under my control

it worked like a dream.

naturally I chose a btn of the 95th Rifles and spent a glorious week running around the battlefield, intervening in all the pivotal moments.

If anyone is interested, I will find some way to post screenshots or even some live action.

Your approach is in essence is a battalion level challenge. I suppose most folks would expect division-corps (operational) level tactical challenge from Napoleonic warfare. But perhaps its worth a shot. It’s the poor AI which put me off back then + poorly designed cavalry charges.
