Officers of the Grande Armée, I am proud to share with you the advancements that the Grande Armée & the NWC has made since 3rd August 2024. First I want to bring you the recently applied expansion of the French awards a little closer. Armes d'honneur Here we have 3 new awards and these will be awarded for reaching either 1200 Command-AP, 1200 Training-AP or 1200 Administration-AP. That means if an officer clearly excels in a certain field of administration like commanding, training or administration, and earns a lot of these specific Administration Points(AP), he will be award extra with an award of this series. It can be seen as additional award series to the already existing Légion d’honneur to specifically acknowledge the field in which the officer made his major contribution to the club. L'ordre de l'Union Here we have 5 new awards and these are awarded for playing a certain number of maneuver games. The Grande Armée has a long history and the casualties in the field were not few, and so we have many old veterans but also many rather new officers that still need to gain experience to be assigned to a regular infantry or cavalry unit. It is the intention of this new award series to foster the friendly maneuvers between French officers to let the veterans give some knowledge to the new officers but also to give the new officers a chance to get their first taste of commanding a battle and so to gain experience & knowledge. The momentum that is build up by maneuvers can then be carried into the field to meet the Coalition forces in battle. L'ordre de la Réunion Here we have 5 new awards and these are awarded for playing multiplayer games. The act of coming together to deliver the enemy with a fight or make a maneuver with friendly officers is a massive undertaking. Officers that fight or conduct maneuvers with other officers, either in an equal role or as superior or subordinate, have to put a lot effort into this undertaking but are also rewarded with a special experience. Recognizing this effort is just proper and hopefully leads to more teamwork to defeat the Coalition forces. L'ordre de la Couronne de Westphalie Here we have 6 new awards and these are awarded for making a certain amount of forum postings. The many various sections that our forum provides are relative silent, and real contribution even in the tavern sections is seldom. This award series will animate officer to more participation on the forum. That way the esprit de corps of the officer corps is strengthened even in times not conducting fights, maneuvers, etc., and so will strengthen the Grande Armée overall. Now to the training, we were unfortunate in the aspect that some trainers dropped out for real life matters and so that we are now down to 3 active trainers. I request anyone to consider if he is able and willing to train new members. If you want to join the trainers of the École Spéciale Impériale Militaire, please do not hesitate and contact me. Last but not least, WDS has provide us with a new patch version 4.09 for Waterloo & the Demo. As usual after some testing this patch will also be released for all other titles of the Napoleonic Battles series. Very interesting in this patch is that we finally got a new OR that enables one to push skirmishers away so that they are not blocking movement like the did before.
