Willkommen to the Vanguard, Kamerad!

​It is with great pride that I welcome a fellow Landsmann to the glorious K.k. Armee.
​To see a volunteer join the Landwehr-Regiment Wiener Freikorps Nr. 2 warms the heart. It shows that the spirit of Vienna is alive and that her sons are ready to defend the Heimat with muskets in hand. Unlike the regulars who fight for pay, we fight for our homes in the Vienna Woods.

​You have been posted to the 1. Avant Garde Division, the very tip of the Imperial spear. Being in the Vorhut is a position of high honor, but also of great peril. We will be the first to see the French columns and the firsts to trade fire. It requires steady nerves and true Vaterlandsliebe (love of country).

​Stand fast with your brigade, Sir. The Kaiser watches over his brave Freiwillige.

Gentlemen,

a heartfelt thank you for your welcome. I am delighted to be able to begin my service in the Imperial Army. Strictly speaking, I am already embroiled in combat operations and have managed to throw half the army into disorder before the first contact with the enemy. At least my canons hit a few French. However, I hope I can live up to the military achievements of my proud ancestor, Sir Looselot.

With this in mind, for the Emperor, God and Fatherland, and the few coins that are somewhat euphemistically called pay in the Austrian Army.
