​It appears the Emperor is recalling his sharpest blades to the front. I extend a formal Willkommen back to the profession of arms.

​I note with interest your return to the 7th Hussars. We Austrians have a healthy respect for the French Leichte Kavallerie. You Hussars are famous for your magnificent uniforms and your reckless Todesverachtung (defiance of death), riding as if the Devil himself were snapping at your heels.

​However, a word of friendly warning from across the lines: While you gallop ahead to scout and harass, remember that the Austrian Ulanen are always watching the flanks.

In your honor, I have called a ceasefire for tomorrow, and all officers are encouraged to celebrate the event by drinking as much of our favorite wine (Merlot de Fontainebleau) as possible. Besides, when the news reached the battlefield of your reinstatement, the enemy Armée retreated so fast that there wasn’t a single soul left to inform of the ceasefire.
