Gentlemen,
May I present two more articles for your attention on WDS tactics, extending the Napoleonic series published in 2023–2024.
These two fill the remaining gap on infantry, focusing on musket mechanics, which is rather technical, and on melee, which is more engaging, I think, as it also covers non-technical aspects.

Table of Contents
1. Defining the Objective
2. Timing
3. Force Allocation
4. Forming Battle Groups
5. Spotting the Weakness
6. Initiating the Melee
7. Combined-Arms Integration

Table of Contents:
1. Understanding the basics of FP values.
2. The impact of Battalion size and PDT column modifier
3. 2-rank British formation
4. Optimizing battalions for musket use

Both will be added to the NWC Field Manual https://wargame.ch/board/nwc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17808 later this month, along with a new AAR on Wagram, which should be released by WDS in late March.

Enjoy your Saturday morning coffee with some WDS Napoleonic reading

General-Leytenant Tartyshev,
Adjutant-General of His Imperial Majesty,

Allow me to express my sincere appreciation for presenting these new articles to the community. Your continued work on WDS tactical analysis is both valuable and instructive, and it greatly contributes to our shared understanding of Napoleonic battlefield mechanics.

The subjects of musketry and melee are central to the conduct of infantry combat, and I look forward with great interest to studying the insights you have so generously provided.

With my respectful thanks for your dedication to the study and development of our Napoleonic wargaming practice.
