Gentlemen,
May I present the Wagram After Action Report:

https://wargameds.com/blogs/news/the-ba ... mfovcBTUIg

This was developed jointly with Général de Brigade Dean Webster, who gave me a very hard fight and handled his forces with great skill presenting a few textbook examles of how forces should be deployed.

It is a substantial read - so prepare your Saturday man cave session accordingly. There are a few PBEM files to be opened as well while you read.

Beyond being a case study, I hope this AAR demonstrates something broader: even in scenarios that appear unfavourable - or even doomed- there are always opportunities for moments of glory. A position can be defended. A situation can be stabilised. A local tactical success can be achieved, even within a larger defeat.

That is where much of the depth of these games lies - not simply in winning, but also keeping your spirits up and managing the crisis.
Hopefully, the report encourages players to look more closely at historically unbalanced scenarios and approach them not as lost cause but as problems to be worked on.

This is fantastic Alexey!! Well done to both you & Dean!!

I look forward to reading it and the things you mentioned are really important......winning is of course great, but sometimes being able to preserve your army on the battlefield and achieve solid gains in areas of the battlefield not expected, is really a great feeling!

You and the folks, almost all of them NWC members, that you collaborate with continue to provide really great insight into the games! :frenchsalute:
