Yes, once again, it is June 14th and time to remember the battles of Marengo & Friedland.
Marengo 1800 - Bonaparte is almost defeated by Melas but the timely arrival of his reserves commanded by General Desaix reversed the course of the battle and the Austrians were forced to retire back into Alessandria. Bring on the Chicken Marengo!
Friedland 1807 - Once again, the Allies have the French army on the ropes but Napoleon's reinforcements turn the tide and defeat the Allies once again.
A toast to the brave soldiers who fought and died on these battlefields on this day.
