Allied Friends:

Charge your glasses and let's drink to my victory over Marechal Rich Hamilton, VII ADR in Belgium! [^] It was a grand affair in which the Allied armies performed superbly. Yes, the opening fight was rather grim with the French pummelling the Allied cavalry near Mons. [V] But the follow-up engagement in which Napoleon tried to turn Wellington's right flank was anticipated by the Duke. The Allies held a strong position and punished the Armee du Nord whenever they were so bold as to try to break the line. A major defeat for the hapless (and now throneless) Emperor.

I have placed the good Marechal's baton in my trophy room alongside the others. [;)]

So drinks on my tab for this one! [:p]
