Vladamir,

You can count me in as a playtester. It sounds interesting.

A comment on the above:

1. Fixed infantry - I studied the account and the infantry was not involved. Remember that the battle had taken up a good portion of the day and the infantry was either exhausted or posted to perform a holding action such as holding a town to cover the retreat or in the French case were too exhausted to continue the advance.

2. Victory levels - I will look these over. In all of the playtest games the game came out pro-French but we figured that veteran players would figure out a strategy to win with the Austrians. Just as in Teugn-Hausen its very hard to adjust for player strategies. There are so many different choices.

3. Lighting - James Arnold notes on page 178 in his book "Crisis on the Danube" that the battle was fought in moonlight. Historically, it was an all cavalry action. Also Arnold notes that St. Sulspice's division wasnt even involved! Thus if I were to accurately depict the scenario I need to fix his division as well. Probably a big reason why the Austrians were losing in most of our playtest games.

This was an all cavalry fight. Arnold says it lasted but 10 minutes! That the Austrians chose to fight on the wrong ground is evident in his account.

Changes I will consider making to the existing battle:

1. Fix St. Sulspice - allow him to release on turn 6.
2. Remove the release time for the Austrian army. Remove the Austrian infantry near the village of Kofering OR just create a new map such that only the area where the historical fight occured is used.
3. Keep the French infantry fixed or remove them altogether.
4. Add in a VP location on the hill behind the Austrian position (hex 35,35 perhaps) worth 100 points or make up more VP locations with lesser values.
