Post subject:  A Time of Eagles

A Time of Eagles is a youtube channel with a series of videos looking at a variety of military topics during the Napoleonic wars.

Primarily it looks at the successfull tactics and formations of the day, how they evolved, and why they worked.

While the focus is mainly on la Grande Armée, it does cover other more generic topics, and things like why the British were often successfull against the French.

This is not just a standard rehash about lines and columns, but a serious, detailed look at what formations and tactics really were used, how they evolved from the period prior to the French Revolution, and what factors contributed to their success.

This does challenge a number of long held beliefs, many of which are enshrined in the WDS combat system.

I can't say I agree with all of the conclusions, and I think some key things are missing from time to time, but I would recommend this series to anyone interested in understanding the combat of the day.
