Rules & regulations:
This is a tournament between the French and British/Dutch armies only. The tournament will finally decide which army fields the best officers!

The games and points.
We will work with a points system and 'mirror' games. Two players (one French, one British/Dutch) will be combined according to rank in playing teams. The tournament co-ordinators will make the 'matches'. After that the players will choose and play a scenario from both sides; a mirror game. That is, both players will start the game simultaneously as the French and thus will be playing both sides. The player that wins a battle receives 2 points. The player that looses receives nothing. In case of a draft 1 point is awarded to both players. As two games are played a maximum of 4 points can be earned with each playing team. Results of the battle will be forwarded to the tournament coordinators, and then placed on the website. Points are added to the score of the 'army'. That is, with this tournament we do not come to a points total to identify the best officers, we will identify the best army!

One special game.
One multiplayer game will be organized. This will be a Quatre Bras/Ligny scenario. The winner of this game will receive 5 points. In case of a draw both sides will receive 3 points. In case of an equal points score after all the individual games the MP game will decide the final outcome.

Rules.
The tournament will use MOEIV rules. These can be found here.

Scenarios and engines.
This is a 100 days campaign tournament and both HPS and Battleground Waterloo are accepted. The scenario's to choose from are:

The Battleground "Waterloo" engine (we play with vs 2.06).
  • The Battle of Waterloo (historical) 44 turns.

  • The Battleground "Prelude to Waterloo" engine (we play with vs 2.04).
  • The Battle of Ligny 28 turns
  • The Battle of Quatre Bras 28 turns
  • Battles of Ligny and Quatre Bras 28 turns

  • The HPS Waterloo engine (we play with vs 1.03).
  • #9 Historical Ligny No fixed units 36 turns
  • #19 Ligny and Quatre Bras I Corps variant release 36 turns
  • #22 Quatre Bras Historical 36 turns
  • #37 Historical Waterloo 52 turns
  • #43 Waterloo and Wavre Variant 52 turns
  • #44 Waterloo and Wavre Quick Response variant 52 turns

  • We like you to stick to the scenario's above, but if you really find it difficult then more balanced scenario's can be found

    in the scenario library.

    NWC club points awarded?
Of course, you can simply open en close games under NWC as you usual do.
And there is more! Every officer of the winning army gets a special medal!
To be placed on his army records page. This alone will make sure that not one officer will miss this tournament. This is it:

    Time frame.
When does the tournament finish? The closing term will be 31-12-2009 at 23.55 hour. At 23.56 we will identify the best army in the NWC club. If your game results are not received by that time your army will not thank you for that. Because your points will not be added to the army total.
