The Continental American Army is meant to be a representation of American forces that fought in the French and Indian War (1754-1763), the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783), the War of 1812 (1812-1815), and the Mexican American War (1846-1848). We are a member of the Colonial Campaigns Club , devoted to playing by e-mail or online the Wargame Design Studio (WDS) [Formerly John Tiller Software (JTS)] Early American Wars (EAW) Series computer wargames "Campaign 1776", "The War of 1812", "The French and Indian War", and "The Mexican American War". Additionally, the club also has many members devoted to playing "Birth of America", "Birth of America II: Wars in America" and "Rise of Prussia" from AGEOD. The Continental American Army consists of about 30 wargamers interested in the history of the Colonial American era, particularly the military actions of 1750 to 1815. We engage in battle with our counterparts in the British, French, and Indian Alliance armies in the Colonial Campaigns Club. Successful completion of e-mail and online games, contributing to the administration of the club, or by instructing new members in wargaming the North American campaigns, members gain club points which serve as a measure of their experience and their involvement. According to the number of points earned, members are awarded historical military ranks which are a representation of one's standing in our Army and the club. For club purposes, each member serves as a commander of a historical colonial American military unit that fought in the North American campaigns. Club ranks and units, while being historical, are only an instrument used to add period atmosphere and color to our community. If you want to read more about the Colonial Campaigns Club, please visit the website . The organization and policies of the club are explained in detail in the club rules . If you would like to read more about the actual Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War, visit this website. If you want to find out about the games we are playing, please visit the publisher, Wargame Design Studio (WDS) or AGEOD. If you are interested in joining us, please visit the Office of Enlistment. |
