Evidently my battlefield promotion to Lieutenant failed to make this months packet ship, however, I know my King continues to favor his Royal Highland Emigrants. (Why else would he have placed us in such a splendid land ).................................
In celebration of this most honored promotion, I do hereby challenge Colonials of like rank to battle (Sadly, Mr Amos does not qualify )
Namely, if Lieutenants Collino, Gallegos, Rodes, Urban or Wieck could please draw straws and forward a challenger to my tent, we would be most obliged.

We are examining the fields of Saratoga and Germantown (b) for potential sites.

Sorry Lieutenant McDonald. Your promotion was temporarily lost in the endless shuffle of paperwork I say. It has arrived and you're now promoted and listed, congratulations sir!

You had probably not lined the pocket of some wig festooned, gout laden leech back in London. Now that the the proper pencil pushers have been paid, you get your promotion. Thats quite an empire...why do you Provincials volunteer for this abuse. Its not too late Lt. JMcD to join us in this new country, but if you insist on loyalty to fat George, then off to Germantown we go. Please send a courier to discuss terms
