I am interested in editing maps by hand. I understand that it can be done with excel. I would appreciate any tips that some of the experienced map makers (?) are willing to share.

Do I save the file as text? How to import into the spreadsheet properly? Will Word work instead? Anything.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mike, check out the SDC. I use wordpad, save as text then change name to .map. The SDC explnation should get you there. Send me an email if you get stuck.

Thanks Scott. I had been looking in the wrong area of the SDC.

My understanding is that the EF1 editor only works with 1776. It also doesn't allow for swamps.

Looks like I have my work cut out for me.

use "marsh" instead, and use major roads for creeks.

Hey, Ralf, maybe 1866 would work with 1776? I am still finding it very sad that the project was abandoned.

Yes.

The problem would be Königgrätz itself. When I find the time I will check it. Now I am very busy with new 3D-icons for C1776, similiar to the icons I made for Mollwitz.
