In the EAW series an exit hex belongs to one side or the other. By highlighting Objective Hexes you can see who owns it. You earn Victory Points by removing your units when they occupy an exit hex. The Victory Points you earn per type of unit (infantry, cavalry, artillery, and supply points) are equal to those you would lose if they were 'killed, or captured. Unforetunately, leaders never count when exiting. The exact point values are determined by the scenario designer. The 'canned' scenarios use a series standard value, which I have forgotten, since I haven't written a canned scenario in a couple of years, and use a completely different formula for my how brewed scenarios.
