The dawn of wargaming?

Did you play Avalon Hill's Tactics II ? Remember when the family cat or dog ran across the board? Compressed paper-based units went flying in all directions and we, the players, truly freaked out. Even the task of counting the combat odds on a stack of units was challenging.

This thread should be very interesting as this subject really separates the men from the boys... or should I say the elderly from the men?

Let's hear from you as to when you got started with physical boardgames or computer simulations. What games were you playing.

Personally, I loved Tactics II and it's a primary reason why I love the CCC series. Relative simplicity and untold hours of fun at such a bargin price.
