My research into the family ancestry has uncovered two family connections to the Revolutionary War.

My grandson, Cooper Samuel Breen, (through my daughter-in-law's family) is the 7th Great Grandson of Major Jacob Perkins, 1st Burlington (New Jersey) Militia. So that makes me a Grandfather of a Son of the American Revolution (GFSAR).

My Great Grandfather, Henry Breen, is buried on the Battle of Brooklyn Battlefield. He's buried about 100 yards from where the first shots were fired and what was the left flank of the British line. Now he died in 1902, but it turns out that Brooklyn's Greenwood Cemetery includes much of the battlefield and it is used for the annual re-enactment ceremonies. So this is one of those statements that while true may communicate some mis information to the casual reader.
