Colonial Campaigns Club (CCC)

Greetings comrades all!

The CD/DVD read/write drive in my laptop has stopped reading discs, which makes it impossible to continue my delayed battles. [:0]

Symptoms:

1. I put in a disc, close the drive, and it goes clickety-click. [:)]

2. The CD/DVD drive light appears. [:)]

3. I do NOT hear the drive spin up (that up-throttle sound like an airplane engine). [}:)]

4. Windows Explorer acts as if no disc is in the drive. [V]

5. The drive does open and close with the physical button.



Any suggestions would be most welcome. Do I need to clean the laser eye thingy? [B)]
