Well, there are some that are actually fun to talk with, would you believe it? ... Let's not be too discriminatory. Just don't propose a toast to the King in their presence!

Not even to his Maj.'s mild and most gracious taxes?

Ohh, that will be difficult....

OK, let's start the debate with, äääähmmmm..., yes:

"Should farmers be allowed to have fire-arms?"

Only if they pay their taxes, and only in exchange for an oath of allegiance to the King! Although, actually, I have a bunch of loyalist militia fighting for me at Lundy's Lane, and they aren't worth a damn.

Why thank you, perhaps you do have a touch of civilization after all.

Now, lets see, a toast that won't set off a brawl.. hmm.. nope, can't use that one, or that one, and no... oh! I have it, something that everyone should agree on!

Ralf! Dierk! Hello! A drink? Sure! Pepsi please {pulls up a chair}. Okay now about farmers bearing arms. I find if you put up a strong enough barricade they make fine fighters, but then since my forces are fighting one of you at Bunker Hill and the other at New Orleans, you'll both find that out soon enough I suspect.

Taxes are okay, along with representation. Now kindly ask Fat George to go back to Germany and you all can be our European State. Perhaps make it three ... how about the 14th State be England, 15th Scotland and the 16th Ireland?

what? Okay you can keep cricket, but remember football is not soccer. ;)

probably because their commanders know very well how to keep slaves together.

No, it isn't. It's just a bumptious version of the good old British Rugby.

English slave traders existed before American slave traders, and the oppression the Empire exerted over the peoples of the sub-continent make bringing up the issue of slavery one for the ACW board since both sides are sinners in this case here.

I drink to that, and I have also one that will hopefully offend no-one, regardless of color uniform and rank:

Well, my good lieutenant, you can't very well expect to win a war when you arrive at the tavern before 0600!

Now that the days work is done maybe we can share a bottle of Madeira? A bottle of Anjou would be nice too but with all the current difiiculties between you and the French it's been hard to come by.

But sit and tell me about these militia at Lundy's. I am opposing them now, commanded by Reuter, and they have landed some stiff blows. However, I think they are not long for this world.

In this case:

Being early at the tavern leaves more time to shoot rebells.
