Right then! I know what history books say about the Battle of Yorktown, that Lord Cornwallis surrendered the city to General Washington in 1781. (all lies BTW[:p]) Well this club is all about rewriting history, and as the Earl of Yorktown, that is what I intend to do. [}:)]
My proposal is simple; I will defend Yorktown against any and all Colonials, Frenchmen, or Indians playing Barry Maunsell's "Yorktown_b" scenario which can be downloaded from here:
http://www.hist-sdc.com/zip/Yorktown_b.zip
This is a 25 turn daylight battle against prepared defenses covering quite a large front with 5293 Americans and Frenchmen attacking 5557 British regulars and their loyal German and Provincial allies, with both armies having a good number of cannons.
Several very important leaders are present at this battle including that subversive Prussian martinet von Steuben, that silly Frenchman Rochambeau, even that grand traitor Washington pokes his head out from behind a tree. Countering these treasonists are the dauntless Brigadier General Charles O'Hara who commands my very own Foot Guards, and of course the intrepid Lieutenant General Lord Charles Cornwallis himself.
I'm flexible, but suggested optional rules ALL on except:
Manual Defensive Fire
Rifle Fire Effects
Cornwallis Cannon
Suggested House Rules:
No column melees
No blocking enemy zones of control with leaders or supplies
No intentional blocking LOS with supplies
Would strongly prefer a minimum of 3 turn exchanges per week through game's conclusion or your inevitable surrender! My sword and my city are at stake, come and get them if you can Sirs.
