I know this is been discussed before, but Chief Dupuy is looking for some "numbers" so your guess and brief explanation will be fine. A reference to a more in depth study is also welcome.

Here's the question two armies are facing each other, everything (eg leadership, unit guality)is the same. They have decided to fight, running away completely is not an otpion, but they can fight a withdrawal action. What constitutes a fair fight if one had muskets with bayonets and the other has rifles.

Situation A: Clear Terrain, Red Army has 1,000 muskets, Blue Army needs ______ rifles to fight a Draw.

Situation B: 50% forest. Red Army has those same 1,000 muskets, Blue Army needs ________ rifles to fight a Draw.
