I've been doing some battle testing with willing opponents with my "Battle of the Gulch" scenario. In it is an ample supply of skirmishers that are low in numbers but can really absorb the punishment (except for melee, and sometimes with the right kind of firepower).

Having a front line in front of my larger units has created a very interesting dynamic... it's almost like TWO wars at once!

At one point in one battle, my opponent advanced his skirmishers against mine, and in a dramatic show of discipline, he caused most of my skirmishers to rout - - just by firepower.

Behind the skirmish line are my heavy units, angling for position and surprise.

Frankly, I find it quite realistic in its complexity and nuances.

Once this round of testing is over, I will want to take on the adventurous!

Regards,

Lieutenant Brooks
