I am a member of ALHFAM (The Association of Living History Farm and Agricultural Museums). The following RFQ was posted today. Although it has a very quick fuse, perhaps some of our members might be qualified to fit their contractual requirements and adequate time to pursue this one or a portion thereof. Wow, they even need a scale model... Wouldn't it be cool to produce an interactive or dynamic scale model given a proper budget to make it happen!

The Heritage Museums of Havre de Grace in northeastern Maryland have issued an RFP for a contract Historian to conduct primary research on both the town circa 1812 and the May 3, 1813 attack on the town by the British during the War of 1812. The Historian will also oversee and direct community volunteers in research, assist with the digital archiving of information and artifacts, and advise a committee building a scale model of 1812 Havre de Grace. The Historian will collaborate with the project director and local historians to ensure that a comprehensive and high-quality community research plan is completed.
For the complete RFP, please email Heidi Glatfelter, Project Manager, at heidi.hdg1812@gmail.com.
Deadline for response in February 15, 2011.

Interesting. Not for me, but interesting that they are doing this.

What is RFP and RFQ?

There are a number of commercial acronyms used for tenders (sourcing of suppliers and acquisition of products and services). Here's the ones that I know:

RFI = Request for Information (Used to get product and service info to determine a long list of potential suppliers) This is used first. While one of the following is planned to follow the RFI.

RFQ = Request for Quote, or RFP = Request for Proposal
