The Battle of Brandywine was fought. General Washington suffered a defeat that resulted in the loss of Philadelphia. Within a year Philadelphia was back in American hands and our country went on, with the help of France, Spain and others, to win it's independence.

224 years later, we survived another devastating blow to our freedom.

Today we honor all who have gone before us, and gave thier all for our freedom.

Let us honor them by giving our all to each other in love and respect, helping each other as we can, giving as has been given to us, forgiving as we've been forgiven.

... one nation under GOD, indivisable, with liberty and justice for all...
