Gents,
Looking for a match in WIA ... preferably a full campaign in either the Revolutionary War or 1812. Any takers?

I replied to this already once before, but my post is no longer there?

In any case, I am interested, but can't commit to anything but an extremely leisurely pace at this time. 1812 preferred.

Dierk,
Thank you for responding to my post! I'd very much enjoy trying out AGEOD with you. Don;t know if you remember, but we had a match in ACWGC a number of years ago! I enjoyed that ... as I recall, you taught me a few (actually, maybe a lot!) of lessons in that one.

Anyways, a leisurely pace would be perfect. If memory serves me right, you are an academic. I'm in the midst of a mid-life crisis ... working on a PhD ... in dissertation writing mode right now and teaching full time at a local business college. A game where turns are often enough to create an occasional diversion for m research and writing is welcome.

I'll be out of town the next four days. If you want to select a side (I'm not partial at all) and send the first turn out, that would be fine by me.

Hope all is well on your end!

best,

john

I recall the Ageod game. I had all forgotten about the ACW games. Small wonder though, as per my record we did Pea Ridge and Perryville in 2002! No recollection of these games I am afraid.

Good Lord! I sympathize. Writing a PhD thesis is an exceptional state of mind for months, or years! Mind you I did it twice. Stupid German academic custom. The second time I was already married. I think my wife had to live with a permanently mentally absent husband for the full eight months it took to write the book. I would sit at the dinner table trying to talk sense while my mind was fully occupied going over what I'd written today and what I'd write tomorrow.

I'll be happy to. :)
