Officers of La Grande Armée and the Allied Coalition, today I bring to your attention a milestone in the career of Général Christian Hecht.



Général Hecht's contribution to La Grande Armée has been recognised by l'Empereur with an award which is rarely distributed.

Général Hecht has held the role of Commandant en Chef de la Grande Armée since 8th January 2020. Over the last six years he has worked tirelessly in restructuring its organisation, improving and building its internal communication, increasing the compliment of officers, encouraging activity, instigating a series of beneficial changes and a range of new awards to reward aspects of La Grande Armée not previously recognised.

It gives me the greatest of pleasure to announce that Général Hecht is hereby recognised with the Award shown below:




Étoile de Grand Officier de la Légion d'honneur.

Cher Général Hecht,

This award is not enough for all the tireless work you do. For over six years you have done the thankless job of making our hobby a great and wonderful place. It is because of people like you that i get to have a happy and wonderful escape in life. I only wish that i could personally pin this medal on your chest myself.

You inspire to aspire; making me want to become more active in our wonderful community. I want to do it for the same reasons you do. Not for the accolades, but for the camaraderie and the good-natured help it provides the men around.

We all raise a glass to you,

To master the relentless Papierkrieg of army administration for six uninterrupted years is a feat perhaps more demanding than any single campaign.

While we fiercely oppose your eagles on the battlefield, the Austrian ranks hold nothing but profound Respekt for your tireless dedication to your officers and your club. Earning the Étoile de Grand Officier is a magnificent and well-deserved testament to your leadership.

In honor of our Commandant (Général Hecht), I have called a cease-fire for tomorrow, and all 5ème corps officers are encouraged to celebrate the event by drinking as much of our favorite wine (Merlot de Fontainebleau) as possible. I'll even send over my mistress and barmaid to General Hecht's tent to help our commander celebrate.
