Looking for a MP game in NRC. We play the mammoth what-if scenario that was designed by Charlie Cutshall called The Battle of the Twin Peaks, August 16-17, 1812. It lends itself well to three players per side and a CinC.
Hoping to get:
4 French players - one is CinC and gives orders.
4 Allied players - one from each army (thus the Austrian slot is taken) - one of us is CinC and gives orders.
The CinCs do not play. Their role is to be El Supremo for their side (but see below).
Orders are simple as per our old miniature days. No orders beyond that point.
The game file goes through the CinC who ends the phase and passes it along to his counterpart.
Single phase play option.
Simple House Rules on Skirmishers and Cavalry and Boardedge.
It would be nice to have two officers from each French Army - AdN and AdR
We need a Russian, Prussian and Anglo-Allied to answer up.
File pace would need to be one from each side a week to make this work. CinC plays for the player when he is out (thus is sort of a substitute player when needed).
Simple orders rules:
1. No orders more often than needed - one per hour to each subordinate at most. No micromanaging of the player's forces for him.
Examples: I Corps is to take La Haye Sainte and clear the area to either side of that objective for a future advance over the ridge.
III Corps is to march to La Belle Alliance and then attack Hougomont.
2. Delays in orders - for each 40 hexes add in an extra turn. Thus on the turn that an order is made it gets delivered on the NEXT turn but if the commander's officer was 60 hexes away from Napoleon then the order will take an extra turn.
3. CinC acting for the player in his absence follows the last set of orders. Orders changes are not allowed for that player's forces for two turns while he is out. (this stops the CinC from drastically changing their route of advance and so on).
I would NOT want to be El Supremo for our side in that I will be away for a week or more in April, May, June and July.
Thus whoever signs up for the Allied side will get to move my troops around and generally do a better job than myself! For that reason alone I am going to play the Center commander as that way it fits in better with the role of CinC moving my troops.
Anyone interested or did I consume too many pototoes this winter (funny thing is that I have yet to have one baked potato at the house since I moved here to Idaho, Sizzler excepted)?
