Sadly, I must report to you today that the former Commander of the Spanish Brigade of the Anglo-Allied Army, Colonel Vincent Maddis, has been officially listed as 'Missing in Action'.

It is my great pleasure, however, to introduce to you the new Commander of our Spanish Brigade, Colonel Jose (Trane) Barredo. It is a most excellent posting for a most deserving officer. Please join me in welcoming Colonel Barredo into his important, new role.

Based on our current crossing of swords at the Battle of Nivelles, I am certain you are a most worthy choice for the position, and will bring honor and glory to the Spanish Brigade! 8)

May I be the first of the Spanish freedom fighters to publicly offer my allegiance and sword to the worthiest of causes. I can hear the knees of the French troops in Iberia quake in fear now.
